Google+: Don’t Create an Account for Your Business Yet!
Apparently, many of the early beta accounts for Google+ have already been exploited as business marketing attempts, any many by some very large players. Some of the Google+ accounts that were offered sparingly to users were then used to promote companies like Ford Motors, Mashable, and various news stations. Just searching for “Corp”, “Inc”, “Company” bring up dozens of small businesses jumping quickly onto the platform to gain early-mover advantage.
The bad news…
Google said openly when it first launched the beta for Google+ that pages promoting businesses should wait. Google is seeking out, shutting down and deleting non-personal profiles on Google+. Currently, the early testing is only for personal profiles. It looks like Google is doing the right thing by trying to reach out to businesses that are interested in self-promotion or making money on their new platform by providing a sign-up sheet:
The Good news…
Google has openly discussed in video and blog posts that the business promotion capabilities are in brisk development and will be released later this year. Here is one of their videos:

In a post from Christian Oestlien, Google has communicated the following interesting tidbits:
How users communicate with each other is different from how they communicate with brands, and we want to create an optimal experience for both. We have a great team of engineers actively building an amazing Google+ experience for businesses, and we will have something to show the world later this year.
It looks like taking advantage of the platform right now is now the best thing to do for a business, as Google is frowning upon it and something big is in the works for us in the next few weeks or months.
Just start making your plan of attack for the new money-making online township. The next Zynga or Acai Berry billionaires could be on the horizon.
